I’m an Applied Mathematics graduate from UNICAMP. I was always curious how math could explain things around me and that sparked my interest. Though learning wasn’t always easy, with time and practice, concepts started snapping into place, complementing each other and revealing new approaches to solve problems. In university, seeing practical applications of math in physics and daily problems deepened my fascination with how we can translate everything into math and solve important problems. This changed the way I see the world and now I enjoy teaching others to see how math shapes our lives daily. Beyond math, I love programming, working out, spending time with family and friends, and biking, hiking, swimming and learning to skate.

My name is Martin and I am a Biophysics graduate from UBC. In my high school life, I found it hard to appreciate and like math. Algebra and numbers were confusing and tough to grasp. However, transitioning into university taught me values and ideas that I wished to learn sooner. Teaching younger students who may not like math the essentials is something I wish was once done to me. Aside from math, I enjoy playing jazz guitar, work on physics and algorithmic computer science, and workout. Much of which was influenced by my love of math!

My name is Noah and my post-secondary studies were in Mathematics, Linguistics, and Music. After my studies, I had the opportunity to present my work uniting math and music in conferences and festivals in Mexico, USA, Austria, and Croatia, as well as grant funding to continue studying in Mexico, Japan, and West Africa. I found a love for math through my joy of puzzles, games, and art, which can all be explored through art. In addition to helping students navigate their school work, I hope to help them find beauty in math so they can enjoy the world of numbers and patterns. My most recent hobby is studying the shakuhachi flute.

I started AskMeMath with one goal of making math easy for all. Math has become a monster to kids and I want to change this mentality by proving the opposite.

I’m a Computer Systems graduate from BCIT. While I haven’t always liked math, things changed in my early elementary school years when a classmate’s enthusiasm for math sparked my interest. Once I got a solid understanding of the fundamentals, I began viewing math problems as challenges rather than chores. This shift in perspective not only helped me excel in math but also in school overall. Eventually, I earned recognition in a national Math Olympiad, showcasing my newfound passion.

Beyond academics, I enjoy volleyball, fitness, music, video games, programming, and quality time with loved ones.
